Husky Stadium has stood for nearly nine decades as one of Seattle’s largest capacity sporting and events stadium and will close after Saturday’s football game against Oregon for extensive renovations. The $250 million renovation will see the iconic waterfront stadium be mostly torn down starting after the game. The new stadium will look distinctly familiar to the current design but will be modernized in all aspects and is slated to open in August 2013. Go here for Husky Stadium information.

Watertown guests have the choice to walk the short distance to the stadium or reserve a seat on our shuttle which can drop you off a block away.

In a stadium that has seen hundreds of college football games, NFL games, Presidential speeches and commencement ceremonies, welcoming the Oregon Ducks to play the last game (for now) is a fitting grand finale. The No. 6 ranked Ducks are a natural rival and should prove to be an event to remember.

According to WSDOT, Seattleites are in for a wild week if they want to get from North to South along the Alaskan Way Viaduct next week.

Many commuters are planning a myriad of avoidance tactics up to and including the surrender of the car key in favor of a room key, at a local hotel. Instead of waiting in the expected snarled traffic jams along the surface roads and highways in the area, many have made arrangements to stay home, telecommute or stay in a hotel.

We highly recommend saving your nerves and getting off the roads. Our already low rates, coupled with our free parking will provide a shorter and more relaxing commute. Call 866.866.7977 today to find out more.

We’re happy to announce that Watertown Hotel will be enhancing the property by adding a comforable neighborhood cafe we’re naming, Pineapple Cafe.

Why the Pineapple?

These days, pineapples can easily be acquired at your local grocery store. But in the early years of our country, they were quite difficult to come by. Back then, pineapples were a rare delicacy, and thus became a status symbol. A gift of a pineapple was seen as the highest form of graciousness and hospitality because it showed that your host had gone to great lengths and spared no expense to make you feel welcome.

We invite you to share in our “Pineapple spirit” and enjoy a level of unpretentious, personal and inviting hospitality.

We’re expanding the area off the lobby to include a barista stand, food counter, beverage refrigerator and improve the seating area around the room. As always, we’ll offer complimentary WiFi for our guests and look forward to welcoming you with sweet and savory treats. We will proudly serve Starbucks coffees to tempt guests, neighbors and visitors alike.
